Environmental Management System

Port of Hamina Ltd had an environmental management system in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard and Port of Kotka Ltd had a management system in accordance with both the environment ISO 14001 and the quality ISO 9001 standards.

After certifying the Hamina facilities (ISO 9001), Port of HaminaKotka Ltd's managing system consists of certified environment and quality management standards (ISO 14001, ISO 9001).

The purpose of the management system is to continuously improve and develop the level of operations, quality and environmental protection so that we might improve our service to the customers and to promote our competitiveness.

Our environmental management system includes to find and to access environmental impact, to plan and to implement improvements, to prepare for emergencies and to ensure that environmental incidents are monitored and communicated openly.

By managing environmental issues systematically we can reduce the negative environmental impacts caused by the Port, raise environmental awareness and increase interaction between the stakeholders working in the Port. To ensure a properly working system, the whole personnel must be dedicated to take environmental issues into consideration in all operations.
